What We’re Reading September 28, 2015

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Monday, September 28, 2015.

Trending: Chelsea Clinton Running for Congress?

While the media continues its hate-parade on the Donald Trump campaign, voters apparently disagree with the media’s assessment. All of the polls continue to show Trump with a strong lead on his competitors (though that lead is shrinking). The latest Wall Street Journal poll continues that trend finding Trump in the lead with 21% of the vote, Ben Carson at 20%, and Carly Fiorina and Marco Rubio at 11%.

The stat geeks and prognosticators at 538 blog use the data to show why Bobby Jindal shouldn’t be counted out of the race just yet. Using analysis of data from years past, plus what we know of the electorate today, 538 suggests that the Louisiana Governor still has a real shot at winning the GOP primary in Iowa.

The latest twist in the Hillary Clinton email scandal had the AP digging up proof that the Clinton campaign’s email timeline is wrong. The folks at Buzzfeed News wonder how anyone can trust the Clinton campaign any more, especially now that the timeline they were so SURE about has been proven a lie.

It’s not just John Boehner who needs to go – the House GOP needs a whole new leadership team.

The Pope had an opportunity to make one of the most important (and well heard) arguments for religious liberty the world has heard in years… sadly, he didn’t deliver because he was too focused on less important issues.

France has begun delivering airstrikes against ISIS in Syria.

“Our forces reached their objectives: the camp was completely destroyed,” Mr. Hollande said. “Six jets were used, including five Rafales, and they were able to ensure that our operation did not have any consequences for the civilian population.”

He added that France might launch other strikes in the coming weeks if necessary, with the goal of “identifying targets that are training camps or places where we know that the Daesh terrorist group can threaten the security of our country.”

Well… there goes America’s leadership on the world stage. Iraq has announced that they have begun working with Russia, Iran and Syria in the fight against ISIS.
