A High School Senior in Minnesota had been suspended and threatened with the loss of graduation privileges for flying a Confederate flag in his car. Now the school will allow him to walk at his graduation.
A hearty “way to go” for Nebraska which finally abolished the unfair and immoral practice of Civil Asset Forfeiture. Now it will require a criminal conviction if the state wants to take your property. (Yes, this is a thing in most of the country.)
“Civil forfeiture is one of the most serious assaults on due process and private property rights in America today,” IJ’s Legislative Counsel Lee McGrath said in a statement. “Today’s decision to abolish civil forfeiture will ensure that only convicted criminals—and not innocent Nebraskans—lose their property to forfeiture.”
Don’t expect Senator [score]Marco Rubio[/score] (R-FL) to leave Florida and become a lobbyist now that it appears his Senate career may be winding to a close. “I’m not going to be a lobbyist, just not going to do that, not interested in that. I’m not moving to New York and working on Wall Street,” Senator Rubio told a South Florida radio show.
Senator [score]John McCain[/score] (R-AZ) is in trouble in Arizona.
