What We’re Reading March 24, 2015

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Tuesday, March 24, 2015.

RedState’s Erick Erickson asks a very fair question of the just announced candidate for President, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), and also of Senators Rand Paul (R-KY) and Marco Rubio (R-FL)… for 6 years Republicans have been saying the nation made a mistake electing a one-term Senator as President, and now you 3 want us to elect another one-term Senator as President? Why should we do that?

I’m not sure exactly why this is surprising… but surprising it is. (Maybe it’s just because I’ve grown so used to disagreeing with McCain in recent years.) Senator John McCain says that he’d support Senator Ted Cruz in 2016 if he wins the nomination. “If the Republicans Party nominates him, I do. He is a valued member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. He and I are friendly and I think he is a very viable candidate,” McCain said. McCain was also quick to point out that he was not endorsing Cruz because he’d prefer to see Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) as the candidate.

Noah Rothman at HotAir writes that Ted Cruz’s candidacy is a good thing for the Republican Party.

Support for Governor Scott Walker (R-WI) continues to grow among Republican voters and the reason has a lot to do with his “can do” personality. “He’s the little engine that could.” “He has guts.” He’s refreshing for a change. He feels honest to me. He talks like a regular guy.” “He’s a fighter.” “Decisive.” These are all quotes that the Washington post heard when writing a recent story on Walker’s Presidential hopes.

Jeb Bush has a “talk radio” problem and what that means is that the GOP Establishment needs to wake up. If they nominate Jeb Bush, he won’t win because we (conservatives) won’t support him!
