What We’re Reading March 11, 2015

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

It’s official, Americans are sick and tired of the federal government. More than 60% of Americans simply prefer to be governed by their state and local governments!

Wikipedia is suing the NSA! Wikipedia filed a lawsuit on Tuesday challenging the constitutionality of the National Security Agency’s mass surveillance of Internet communications. On Tuesday two of Wikipedia’s founders wrote an op-ed demanding that the government stop spying on innocent American citizens. No matter the benefit, they argue that the cost is far too high to let this continue.

Wikipedia’s lawsuit may not stand up to scrutiny because they may have a difficult time proving that they have standing to bring the suit… but Apple doesn’t have the same problem. Thanks to Edward Snowden, Apple learned that the CIA had been trying to hack Apple’s encryption codes for the better part of a decade! Apple most assuredly has the right and the standing to demand that the courts order the CIA to cease and desist, as their hacking efforts could cause great harm to the Apple company and their shareholders.

If the GOP nominates Jeb Bush to be their candidate for President, then they will be giving up the natural advantage they have over Democrats when it comes to voters who want “change.”

The Presbyterian Church (USA) is just 7 votes shy of officially adopting an Amendment that would give same-sex marriages equal footing with traditional marriage in the PCUSA!
