What We’re Reading July 20, 2016

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

Uh-oh…Roger Ailes is negotiating his exit from Fox News. And the network’s top hosts like Hannity, O’Reilly and Greta are threatening to leave with him.  This all started with a sexual harassment lawsuit by a former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson against the network’s head Roger Ailes.

Scott Walker’s campaigning for Paul Ryan.

This county sheriff is urging his civilian staff to carry concealed firearms.

That’s gotta be embarrassing:  Secretary of State John Kerry walked into the door at the Prime Minister’s office in the UK.

This Brazilian group is pledging allegiance to ISIS.

Hillary’s coughing fit returns. I’m sure it’s just “allergies.”

Kansas City cop shot and killed.

Actor Matt Damon praised Australia for their gun control laws and lamented that the U.S. hasn’t done nearly enough in that regard. “You guys did it here in one fell swoop and I wish that could happen in my country, but it’s such a personal issue for people that we cannot talk about it sensibly.”

President Obama writes a letter to the nation’s police officers, telling them that “we have your backs.”
