What We’re Reading August 17, 2015

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Monday August 17, 2015.

Living the American nightmare.

Don’t buy the Obama administration’s spin on the Iran deal. When they say that Republicans are the only ones against the deal… they’re just lying. Canada is leading the opposition fight against the deal.

Canada, the United States’ biggest trading partner—and, traditionally, its closest ally—has made it clear it wants no part of an agreement normalizing relations between Iran and the West.

When details of the agreement were released last month, Canada’s foreign affairs minister, Rob Nicholson, had this to say:

Iran continues to be a significant threat to international peace and security owing to the regime’s nuclear ambitions, its continuing support for terrorism, its repeated calls for the destruction of Israel, and its disregard for basic human rights.

We will examine this deal further before taking any specific Canadian action.

The Alabama police officer who was brutally beaten with his own gun and then mocked by onlookers told CNN that he was afraid to respond to the situation with force for fear of getting railroaded in the media. Anyone want to hear us say…”We told you so”?
