What We’re Reading April 11, 2015

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Saturday, April 11, 2015.

Trending: Meteorologist who Co-founded the Weather Channel Says “There is No Climate Crisis”

So which party is more extreme on abortion? The leader of the Democrat Party, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, says that there should never be any restrictions on abortion ever… no matter what.

The media uproar over Senator Rand Paul’s short fuse is laughable. Perhaps if so many journalists weren’t focused on simply repeating DNC talking points, Senator Paul wouldn’t be so short with them.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA) gave a rousing speech at the annual NRA conference, decrying the liberal assault on our gun rights. He also argued for other constitutional freedoms too –  “America did not create religious liberty,” Mr. Jindal said, as applause began to build, “religious liberty created the United States of America.”

How can Rand Paul win the GOP nomination? Forget trying to make yourself the perfect candidate for GOP voters and start beating up on Hillary Clinton!

Is Governor Chris Christie really going to run for the White House in 2016? Once upon a time Christie seemed like a shoe-in to be the frontrunner in the GOP race, now he looks more like an also-ran than a true contender.

New Mexico’s Governor, Susana Martinez, did a great thing for New Mexico and the USA when she signed a bill on Friday banning Civil Asset Forfeiture.

The liberal cartoonist of Doonesbury fame, Garry Trudeau, continues to toe the party line – he now says that Charlie Hebdo is ‘Hate Speech.’ Add Trudeau to the list of liberals who have gone from demanding unlimited free speech in the 60s, 70s and 80s to demanding free speech be restrained today. It’s amazing and it’s sad.

Puerto Ricans who don’t speak English qualify as “disabled” for social security purposes. Ugh.

Democrats still lead in party identification but Republicans are making important inroads with young minorities.
