Watch: Trump Blows Reporter Sky High on Gun Control

President Donald Trump was speaking at a news conference overseas, when a reporter tried to corner him on gun control. She used the Texas church shooting to attempt to falter the president on his gun stance, but he blows her out of the water.

“You’ve talked wanted to put extreme vetting on people trying to come into the United States,” the reporter asked, “but I wonder if you would consider extreme vetting for people trying to buy a gun.”

The president expressed that he felt the question was inappropriate at the time, but he answered it nonetheless.

“If you did what you’re suggesting, there would have been no difference three days ago,” the president said in reference to the Texas shooting, “and you might have had that very brave person who happened to have a gun or a rifle in his truck.”

The gunman was stopped by a gun-toting citizen, who also happened to be an NRA instructor. A prime example of good guys with guns taking down bad guys with guns.

Not to mention, the gunman was dishonorably discharged from the military. It was already illegal for him to own a gun. He illegally obtained the firearm. How would taking gun rights away from law-abiding citizens have helped that situation? It wouldn’t have.

Trump continued, “I can only say this: if he isn’t have a gun, instead of 26 dead, you could have had hundreds more dead,” he added, “So that’s the way I feel about it.”

The reporter pressed on and asked, “Are you considering any kind of gun control policy going forward?”

Trump simply responded with logic, “The city with the strongest gun laws in our nation is Chicago and Chicago is a disaster. It’s a total disaster,” he continued, “Just remember, if this man didn’t have a gun or rifle, you’d be talking about a much worse situation in the great state of Texas.”
