Trump Urges Republicans to Block Government Shutdown

Democrats are working overtime to distract American citizens from tax reform, even if that means shutting down the government to do so.

President Donald Trump is urging House Republicans to prevent a shut down by passing a continuing resolution.

He tweeted out on Thursday, “House Democrats want a SHUTDOWN for the holidays in order to distract from the very popular, just passed, Tax Cuts. House Republicans, don’t let this happen. Pass the C.R. TODAY and keep our Government OPEN!”

IJR reports:

Republicans’ new tax bill, Trump suggested, boded poorly for Democrats because of its popularity. The House and Senate sentthe tax bill to Trump on Wednesday, effectively removing one of the many potential obstacles to end-of-year negotiations surrounding government spending.

While it’s unclear where Democrats as a whole stand on threatening a government shutdown, multiple Democratic senators reportedly indicated they wouldn’t tie Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) protections to funding to keep open the government.

So will Democrats attempt to play a game of dominance or will we get through the holiday season in one piece? Who knows. I do know one thing though: it is absolutely great to see how President Trump has honed in on his business skills to turn into such a classy politician in such a short period of time.

Although, maybe a government shutdown wouldn’t be so bad….that is, if it were only the Democrats who stayed home!
