Trump ‘Blames Samsung’ for Missing FBI Texts

Is Samsung to blame for the FBI’s sudden missing texts? President Trump seems to think so.

He tweeted out on Tuesday evening that he is “blaming Samsung” for the debacle of missing messages between a couple of senior FBI officials.

The president tweeted, “Where are the 50,000 important text messages between FBI lovers Lisa Page and Peter Strzok? Blaming Samsung!”

The text messages between the two FBI employees, counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and lawyer Lisa Page, are among a larger batch of messages that were not saved by the FBI because of a software glitch on some Samsung phones.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Monday that the Justice Department’s inspector general is reviewing why the messages were not retained and whether they are capable of being recovered. Sessions said there were more than 50,000 text messages exchanged between the two FBI employees — though not all of them are missing as Trump suggested in his tweet.

Trump’s tweets came after Fox News host Sean Hannity addressed the issue on his Tuesday night show, though it is unclear if that is what prompted him to tweet. Trump is known to be an avid watcher of Fox News and often comments on matters shortly after they are addressed on air.

It is still to clear as to whether Trump is yanking our chains on this one and being sarcastic or if he truly believes that the telephone company has something to do with it.

The texts between Strzok and Page allegedly express anti-Trump comments. This is interesting because both agents were also part of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton and her private email server.

Not to mention, the duo were also assigned to special counsel Robert Mueller‘s investigation into the alleged “Russian collusion” for a brief amount of time.

Sounds like a conflict of interest if you ask me.
