Trump Addresses PC War on Christmas: ‘We’re Saying Merry Christmas Again!’

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal. And a happy New Year!

The word “Christmas” because nearly a curse word in Liberal circles because it included “Christ.” Which, in many households, is what Christmas is about: Christ’s birth.

In my family, we did not open gifts until after we spoke about the true meaning of Christmas and why we were celebrating. My parents thought it important to us to know the real story that went with the festivities.

I now see that there are many homes with parents who did not incorporate this within their children. To be frank, those are likely the same homes who did not spank their children and gave them participation trophies.

President Trump is tackling the “war on Christmas” and he says that now that he is president, we ill be “saying merry Christmas again.”

Speaking to the audience at the Values Voter Summit on Friday, he said, “We’re getting near that beautiful Christmas season that people don’t talk about anymore. They don’t use the word Christmas because it’s not politically correct,” which was followed by applause.

As the first sitting president in history to speak at the summit, he continued,“You go to department stores and they’ll say ‘Happy New Year,’ or they’ll say other things and it’ll be red, they’ll have it painted. But they don’t say — well guess what? We’re saying merry Christmas again.”

The Hill reports:

Trump went on to briefly pivot toward his push to cut taxes, calling for tax reform as a “Christmas gift.”

Trump has long seized on the “war on Christmas” as a way to strengthen his support among evangelicals and Christian conservatives who, until two years ago, might have viewed the Manhattan real estate mogul warily.

He’s used the argument on the campaign trail as a way to assert that political correctness is preventing Christians from expressing their religious beliefs. And to bring the point home, his campaign held a “thank you” rally in Wisconsin last December where he spoke in front of a row of large Christmas trees.

Trump added, “So when I started 18 months ago, I told my first crowd in Wisconsin that we are going to come back here someday and we are going to say merry Christmas again,” he concluded, “Merry Christmas. So, merry Christmas everyone.”

Here is an interview from 2015 in which Trump says that he actually goes out of his way to say “Merry Christmas.”
