Trump: ‘A Gun-Free Zone Isn’t ‘Gun-Free to a Maniac’

President Donald Trump is on fire this week as our second amendment rights are being attacked. He claims that a gun free zone means absolutely nothing to a criminal, because criminals don’t care about the law. That’s the thing liberals don’t seem to understand.

Fox News Insider:

During a listening session with school shooting victims’ families and friends, President Trump agreed with a participant’s contention that faculty should be properly trained and armed if they choose.

Trump said background-check policy must also be very strong as well.

“After we do that, when we see there’s trouble [with a potential suspect] we have to nab them,” Trump continued, “A gun-free zone to a maniac — because they’re all cowards — a gun-free zone is ‘let’s go in and let’s attack because bullets aren’t coming back at us’.”

He called for a new focus on preventing disturbed individuals from having the chance to commit a heinous crime like a mass shooting.

Trump said gun violence prevention is only effective when faculty are properly trained in handling weapons.

As Vice President Mike Pence said on Wednesday at the Conservative Political Action Conference, when you go fishing and fish are getting through the net, you don’t need an additional net, you need to tighten the holes.

We don’t need more gun control laws, we simply need to actually enforce the ones that are already in place.

“If these cowards knew that the school was well guarded … I think they wouldn’t go into the school to start off with,” Trump added.

He lamented the recent drawdown of psychiatric hospitals over the past few decades, calling them a “middle ground” for someone who is exhibiting worrisome behavior but has not perpetrated a disturbing act.

“There’s no place to bring them, and we have that a lot,” he said.
