The Great Wall of Trump!

Oh, that Donald Trump. He’s one funny dude. He also happens to be a serious contender for the GOP nomination and for the Presidency of the United States. He recently appeared on Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria to discuss, among other things, illegal immigration, with host Maria Bartiromo. It was during this discussion that Trump may have uttered what will one day be remembered as the most famous words of the 2016 campaign for the White House.

As you know, I know how to build. I know how to get it done. We’ll have a great wall. We’ll call it the Great Wall of Trump.

You know, interestingly, the wall on southern border, it’s – really, if you think it’s 1,000 miles but it’s 2,000 miles, but a lot of it – some of it’s done – it’s done poorly by the way, what they have done is very poor, very poor work, a very poor job, and very — not much of a wall. But you also have natural terrain which is automatically a barrier, which is a good thing. So you’re talking about 1,000. And then you look at the Great Wall of China that was built 2,500 years ago. It’s 13,000 miles. And we’re really talking about something more than a little more than 1,000 miles. So it is something that can be absolutely done, not done at tremendous cost. You know, it’s been costed by politicians and they came out with these outrageous numbers.

As you know, I know how to build. I know how to get it done. We’ll have a great wall. We’ll call it the Great Wall of Trump. We’ll have a great wall and it will be – it’ll be actually — it can be a good-looking wall, as walls go, but we will have a really terrific wall and it will be gone for the right price. You know, for years, they’ve wanted to do it. I don’t know if you know, even Hillary Clinton, I mean, for years they’ve wanted to do it, but they could never get it figured out how to get it done. And, you know, one of the things that stopped it was the environmental impact statement. Can you believe it?

Trump also made an appearance on CNN’s morning show New Day to speak with host Chris Cuomo about some of the same issues, particularly as it pertained to his wife who emigrated from Slovenia.

Speaking of Trump’s wife Melania, Chris Cuomo wondered how she felt about Trump’s immigration stance.

Donald Trump: She agrees with me, Chris. She went through a long process to become a citizen. It was very tough. And she went to long process to become a citizen of this country. And she thinks it a wonderful process to go through and when she got, she’s very proud of it. You know, she came from Europe and she was very, very proud it.

And she thinks it’s a beautiful process when it works. Now, we can expedite one of the things I really want to do, I want to take in really talented people too.

You know, in Silicon Valley they can get talent. I mean, no matter what you do, you can get talent. And so, I want to take in people from Europe, from Asia, from all over the world that have talent. If you graduate number one in class from Harvard or the Wharton Schools of Finance or Yale and you’re from another country, they throw you out of the country, you can come back in.

I don’t want to do that. I want to keep this really talented people, let them go to Silicon Valley, let them go all over the place that’s what we need.

And I want people to come into the country. But I want to come in legally.
