Ted Cruz Proves Presidential Mettle with Response on 2nd Amendment

Ted Cruz made an appearance at the NRA Annual Meeting & Exhibits in Nashville, Tennessee earlier this April, and he was gracious enough to grant an interview to the good guys at Guns.com.

In a brief 2:31, Cruz proves why he is exactly the kind of candidate we should be hoping will win the 2016 Presidential race as he answers a difficult series of 2nd Amendment based questions. He dismantles the liberal fallacy that we need MORE gun regulation, he responds to the usefulness (or lack thereof) of public opinion polls, and he reminds everyone that when it comes to our Constitutional RIGHTS, public opinion doesn’t matter.

“We’ve seen regimes across the face of the earth come and take away people’s guns, strip away their rights to defend themselves and sometimes it’s been very popular. And yet it is an inevitable prelude to tyranny… The Second Amendment is there so you and I could protect our homes, our families, and our children and our lives. And it’s also there as a fundamental check on government tyranny and that ultimately is not subject to public opinion polls, it’s subject to the express protections of the Bill of Rights of the Constitution.”

“When it comes to Constitutional rights, what matters is what the Bill of Rights says. It doesn’t matter what might be popular at the moment.”

More videos like this from Ted Cruz could make him an overwhelming favorite among conservatives.
