Tampa Bay Stands with Israel

We’ve brought you reports of pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli rallies from around the country (and Europe too). Our most recent one comes as a report from a friend of Eagle Rising who happens to live in the Tampa Bay area.

On Friday August 1st a group of Jews, Christians and other friends of Israel came together to support the Israeli struggle for peace.

Here’s what our friend had to say about the gathering…

This was a rally held today in Tampa Bay. Called Tampa Bay Stands with Israel. Jews, Christians and others came out to support. The leaders/speakers included Pastor Scott Thomas from Free Life Chapel, Rabbi Mendy Dubrowski , plus local and state leaders.

Proud to be a part of this peaceful event with Jewish, Christian and other freedom loving brethren today. Here we are, singing, “Oseh Shalom.” This is our song for peace…for ALL of Israel and ALL of the world!!!

Do you notice the difference between peace loving pro-Israel gatherings like this one and the evil pro-Palestinian rallies that have been rife with hatred and violence?

Thousands gathered in Paris Sunday under the banner “Total Support for the Struggle of the Palestinian People”.  Clashes erupted when marchers encountered a police cordon and began throwing projectiles.  They then trapped a group of Jews inside their synagogue, where they remained until rescued around 9 p.m. by police.  One worshipper inside told Israel’s Channel 2 news the experience was “like..an intifada” as rocks and bricks were thrown into the building.

By the time the crowd was dispersed by police, two Jewish community members and six officers were injured, albeit lightly.  Another synagogue was also attacked.  Six protesters were arrested.
