Take a Guess Why This 5-Year-Old was Suspended From School for Playing With a Stick

We’ve seen kids get suspended for biting a pop tart into the shape of a gun or for fashioning their hand to resemble a firearm. The inmates are running the asylum. Here’s the latest from Keely Sharp over at Keep and Bear:

A five-year-old girl has been suspended for playing with a stick that resembled a gun. She was pretending it was a gun for the game she was playing with her friends, called Kings and Queens. She was playing one of the guards, in charge of protecting the “royals.”

The Hoke County School system said Caitlin posed a threat to other students when she made a shooting motion — a violation of school policy, officials said.

“We know why it’s bad,” Miller told WTVD. “We watch the news, but then I have to tell my kid, ‘you’re not allowed to play like that in school because people do bad things to kids your age.’”
