Senate Hearing Set: Kushner, Trump Jr, Manafort to Testify

Donald Trump Jr, Jared Kushner (senior advisor to President Trump), and Paul Manafort (former Trump campaign manager) will be going before the Senate to testify in regards to their meeting with a Russian lawyer, who they thought had damaging information on Hillary Clinton.

Trump Jr and Manafort are set to testify on July 26, before the Senate Judiciary Committee. However, Kushner will go alone into a closed session on July 24, before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Apparently, if they were to decline testifying, they will be subpoenaed. The Hill reports:

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said Thursday she isn’t concerned about Donald Trump Jr. and Paul Manafort agreeing to testify before a Senate panel, because if they don’t “they’ll be subpoenaed.”

“Am I concerned? No, I’m not concerned, because if they don’t they’ll be subpoenaed,” Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, told reporters.

Feinstein would need Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) to support a subpoena. The two senators have said for weeks that they would be willing to subpoena Trump Jr. and Manafort if they declined to voluntarily testify before the panel.

The entire situation appears to be a set up, and Trump Jr has even released his emails in an attempt to be completely transparent, which is more than I can say for Hillary Pantsuit Clinton.
The three have been berated for meeting with the lawyer, even though she did not speak with them about Hillary Clinton at all. However, they believed they would be getting information that could help them in some way with the election. Incidentally enough, the lawyer was allowed into America, even after her visa was denied and then she seen with the Obama administration after her meeting with Jr, Manafort, and Kushner. Coincidence?

On June 9, 2016, a meeting was held in Trump Tower in New York City between three senior members of the presidential campaign of Donald Trump – Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort – and at least five other people, including Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya. The meeting was arranged by publicist Rob Goldstone on behalf of Emin Agalarov; The Trumps knew both Goldstone and the Agalarovs from the Miss Universe 2013 pageant in Moscow.

The meeting was disclosed to U.S. government officials when Jared Kushner filed a revised version of his security clearance form. Unlike Kushner, Trump Jr. and Manafort were not required to disclose foreign contacts because as they did not subsequently serve in the Trump administration they did not require security clearance.
