When these Californians protest ICE it becomes clear they are self-important and extremely ignorant.
Footage has come to light that demonstrates how destructive those who protest ICE really are. In this case, they started protesting an ICE raid in Oakland, California, before learning what was going on.
The Federalist reports, “WATCH: Neighbors Protest ICE As It Breaks Up Child Sex Trafficking Ring.”
Video of neighbors protesting as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents broke up a child sex trafficking ring in their neighborhood has resurfaced, as politicians and activists call for the agency to be abolished.
A local CBS news station reported on the incident, which took place in West Oakland, California, last year. ICE began conducting the raid in the morning, waking up neighbors who saw ICE and Department of Homeland Security vehicles […].
Assuming the agents were arresting illegal immigrants, people began protesting outside of the house.
Neighbor Hadar Cohen woke up to her roommate crying, saying she didn’t know what to do. The two of them and other housemates went outside to find agents on their street. Cohen, who was holding a “No person is illegal” sign, said that agents weren’t telling the neighbors what was going on.[…]
“It’s been really tough because we have no idea what’s going on in there, and we that there’s a lot of injustices that have been happening,” Cohen said. “We care for our neighbors, and we for immigration rights.”
What is also horrible, is that the CBS story made clear that Oakland, as a sanctuary city, limits how the police can assist in the enforcement of ANY crime when it come to ICE or DHS.
Oakland Police Public Information Officer Johnna Watson said Wednesday’s HSI raid was part of a criminal investigation and not a civil immigration or deportation action, adding that HSI focuses on transnational gangs, humans trafficking, child exploitation and narcotic enforcement.
“Yesterday, HSI headquarters in San Francisco contacted Oakland Police Chief Anne E. Kirkpatrick and requested two police officers to assist with traffic control,” said Watson. “Chief Kirkpatrick gave strict instructions to the commander and officers that they may not assist HSI with any enforcement efforts. The officers’ only role was that of traffic control and neighborhood safety.”
Did you get that? The spokeswoman is assuring the public that the police had strict orders not to assist in searching of evidence of child sex trafficking!
When Oakland boasts in being a sanctuary city, to whom are they giving sanctuary.
