Robert DeNiro, sometimes called the greatest actor of his generation, has become the epitome of leftwing Hollywood elitism.
He is nothing but a caricature now. A classless, clueless, leftwing useful idiot.
He was recently honored with an opportunity to speak at the 2018 Tony Awards, the most important awards program of the year for the actors and artists who perform on the dramatic stage (not on the big or small screen). And what did he do with that opportunity?
He decided to embark on a self-centered, ignorant, and foul mouthed temper tantrum. He railed against President Trump in about as obscene a manner as he could… and his audience loved him for it.
“It’s no longer ‘down with Trump,’ it’s ‘fuck Trump,'” De Niro bellowed at the audience.
This is a crowded auditorium filled with rich actors, producers, and entertainment elites and here they are demagoguing and mocking the President that their patrons elected.
With his rant, DeNiro claimed to be our better. With every curse he argued that he and his Hollywood friends are wiser, more intelligent, and more caring than the average American citizen.
But they are not.
DeNiro and his audience at the Tony Awards are actually the worst of us. They mock and deride those with whom they disagree, instead of debating ideas with ideas. They cannot formulate coherent arguments for their policies, politics, and beliefs, so instead they simply curse our President and spit invective at us.
It’s hateful, it’s sad, it’s disheartening, and it’s pathetic.
Even worse, the journalists covering both politics and culture aren’t much better than the likes of the foul-mouthed Robert DeNiro.
Here’s proof, watch as MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle comments on DeNiro’s tirade and HBO’s Bill Maher “hoping” for a recession:
“I understand the frustration and outrage around the president. I’m sure I shout some of those words in the shower. But when you think about what Americans care about, they care about the economy, they care about health care, they care about issues. And many of them believe, whether he is or isn’t, that he’s delivering for them. When you see celebrities say I hope the economy bottoms out to get rid of Trump, I think that helps Trump. People stop believing what the media tells them when they see media superstars say things like let the economy family. My family can’t afford for the economy to fail. They could hate the president but they need to support themselves.”
Then Ruhle doubled-down and even admitted that she might use the same language when she listens to other Republican leaders.
“So when I heard Mitch McConnell say that, I may have used some of those Robert De Niro words. But where Mitch McConnell has a point and a ridiculous one, while President Trump may be morally reprehensible, behave in the foulest of ways, deliver us Playmates and pornstars, President Trump, what he’s doing for evangelical Christians, in appointing a record number of federal judges, that will stay with us for decades and generations. In four years, evangelical Christians will say ‘Trump who?’ but they will have judges in place forever more aligned with their values so Mitch McConnell can make that point with a straight face even if it makes the rest of us go, ‘what are you talking about?'”
This is your “unbiased” mainstream media folks.
