Reporter Asks Obama – Which bothers you more being called an “Imperial” President or a “Do-Nothing” President?

For all of you crazy right-wingers who think the media is ALWAYS too easy on President Obama – boy do we have some red meat for you today! (By the by – I too am one of those “crazy right-wingers” so don’t get your panties in a bunch.)

President Obama was speaking to reporters at the US –Africa Leaders Summit when Jon Karl of ABC News made our day.

This is what Karl had the audacity to ask President Obama, right in front of EVERYONE!

DarthObama“When you were running for President you said, “The biggest problems we’re facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the Executive Branch and not go through Congress at all, and that’s what I intend to reverse. So my question to you, has Congress’s inability to do anything significant given you a green light to push the limits of executive power, even a duty to do so, or put another way, does it bother you more to be accused of being an imperial president, pushing those limits, or to be accused of being a do-nothing president who couldn’t get anything done because you faced a dysfunctional Congress?”

Whoooo-Boy! Jon Karl better be super-careful… because if looks could kill – that death stare he just got from President Obama means the end of Jon Karl!

By the way, did anyone else laugh the milk right out of their nose when the first words President Obama responded with was, “I never have a green light, I’m bound by the Constitution, I’m bound by separation of powers…There are some things we can’t do. Congress has the power of the purse…”

Does the President really think that we’re going to buy his false concern for abiding by the Constitution? He’s spent the last 6 years circumventing the Constitution when he can — and when he can’t he’s simply trampled it. Spare us from any trite worries about abiding by the Constitution, Mr. President… we’re not buying it.
