What We’re Reading October 1, 2014
We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!
It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.
So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Wednesday October 1, 2014.
Whoops-a-Daisy… in a report for the Daily Beast we learn that our air raids in Syria came shockingly close to destroying our “allies.” In an attempt to hit al Qaeda, we actually may have hammered the “moderate” Syrian rebels. I know what you’re thinking – “How could we let that happen?” It’s really not that hard when our allies HQ is right next to Al Qaeda’s HQ. It feels an awful-lot like the two groups are probably working together… and we know that al Qaeda (Al Nusra Front) is also working with ISIS… so how hard of a jump Is it to wonder if the “moderates” are also working with ISIS?
The Kurds are fighting bravely in Iraq, but our President has left them to twist in the wind.
Why are the military and our President so far apart on their ideas about winning the war on terror and the war on ISIS?
Ted Cruz is finding his base is made up of social conservatives and that may be a good thing. He may be the social conservative with the best shot to win the White House in years… and yes, he’s got the organization to get it done.
Jeb Bush thinks that the GOP winning the Senate in 2014 would be a good thing.
The Supreme Court has struck down a lower court ruling forcing Ohio to expand its early voting system. Ohio already allows a month in advance to vote!
