What We’re Reading February 4, 2015

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Wednesday February 4, 2015.

The Democrats are being obstinate and filibustering the GOP’s attempts to defund President Obama’s illegal amnesty.

The opposite ends of the GOP are teaming up to stop President Obama’s illegal amnesty program.

Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) and Senator Susan Collins (R., Maine) argued during a Senate GOP lunch that if Democrats filibuster the Department of Homeland Security funding bill — which blocks implementation of Obama’s 2012 deferred action program  and his November 2014 “adult amnesty” — Republicans should respond by blocking only the 2014 orders. The thinking, according to a GOP senator who was in the lunch, is that Senate Democrats will have a harder time staying unified for a filibuster if Republicans have a narrower focus.

Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) and Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) both face very difficult paths to the White House… especially if Jeb Bush sticks around in the race.

The government is lying to you about our unemployment problems… things are MUCH WORSE than 5.6% unemployed.

What is Paul Krugman’s answer for every problem? SPEND MORE MONEY. It’s getting old.

President Obama’s attacks on Israel’s Prime Minster, Benjamin Netanyahu, all seem to be backfriring.

Some scary stuff is happening down in Argentina. A Buenos Aires prosecutor who died of mysterious circumstances had apparently drawn up an arrest warrant for President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner before he died.
