President Responds to Federal Judge Who Lifted Immigration Ban

From the Daily Caller News Foundation:
President Donald Trump called a federal ruling in Seattle halting his immigration ban “ridiculous” in a series of angry tweets Saturday morning, and said the dangerous ruling would be overturned.

“When a country is no longer able to say who can, and who cannot , come in & out, especially for reasons of safety &.security – big trouble!” he tweeted, adding: “Interesting that certain Middle-Eastern countries agree with the ban. They know if certain people are allowed in it’s death & destruction!”

And in another tweet: “The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law-enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned!”

U.S. District Judge James Robart issued an injunction against his executive order temporarily banning all immigration from seven countries in a ruling Friday night. Airlines began allowing passengers previously barred from travel into the country. Washington Attorney General filed a lawsuit over the order on the grounds it violates the Constitution.

The seven countries — Libya, Sudan, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Somalia and Yemen — are Muslim-majority countries designated as terror threats by the Obama administration. In addition to a 90-day ban on travel from those seven countries, Trump banned refugees from those countries for 120 days, and from Syria indefinitely, citing a need to review vetting methods.

The White House vowed to fight Robart’s ruling immediately in a statement from press secretary Sean Spicer Friday night. “The Department of Justice intends to file an emergency stay of this outrageous order and defend the executive order of the President, which we believe is lawful and appropriate.”
