NBC Fake News Overstates Size of Anti-Gun Crowd by Four Times

Compared to NBC fake news, CBS was relatively objective and reliable on the numbers attending the rally in Washington, DC.

NBC fake news reported that there were 800,000 participants in the March for Our Lives rally in Washington, DC. Initially they made an even wilder claim: that the March for Our Lives event created 800,000 new registered voters. They had to walk that claim back.

IJR reports, “NBC Tried to Claim There Were 800,000 Gun Control Marchers in DC — Not Even Close.

Initially, NBC News reported there were an estimated 800,000 people who registered to vote at the march on Saturday but then issued a “correction,” saying 800,000 is the number of people who participated, which is what the […] organizers claimed the number to be in the nation’s capital:

But even that was not true.

It turns out NBC simply repeated what the organizers told them, as if they were the private PR firm for March for Our Lives.

According to CBS News, “How many people attended March for Our Lives? Crowd in D.C. estimated at 200,000.

More than 200,000 people attended the March for Our Lives demonstration in Washington D.C. on Saturday, according to Digital Design & Imaging Service Inc (DDIS). The Virginia-based firm uses a proprietary method for calculating crowd size using aerial photos.

The peak crowd size was 202,796 people, with a margin of error of 15 percent, the firm said. The crowd reached its largest size at 1 p.m., according to the company’s estimates.

The organizers put the total number of attendees at closer to 800,000.

Additionally, as The Daily Caller reported, “Sociologist: Less Than 10 Percent Of March For Our Lives Participants Were Children.

A sociologist on MSNBC threw cold water on […] claims that the March For Our Lives protests were […]led by the nation’s children […].

Dana Fisher […] discovered that […] less than 10 percent of those in the crowd were under the age of 18.

So the March in Washington DC was made up of about a fourth as many participants as organizers claimes and fewer than a tenth of the number were children.
