Media Mogul Calls Bernie Sanders a Racist

Media mogul and Hip-Hop Music Icon Russell Simmons took a heavy-handed swing at socialist candidate for president, “Bernie” [score]Bernard Sanders[/score] (I-VT) over the weekend when he practically argued that Sanders was “racially insensitive” while on CNN. Of course, it just so happens that the mogul is also a longtime friend and ardent supporter of Hillary Clinton.

“Yes, I’ve just decided to endorse my longtime friend, Sen. Clinton.”

“I think that Bernie Sanders is over-promising. He’s insensitive to the plight of black people, and what good is it if you don’t take lobbyists money and you don’t acknowledge the number one threat to America and to the world is the factory farming lobby?” At this point Simmons began to rant about the dangers of man-made global warming and “factory farming” before CNN anchor Carol Costello had him circle back and asked him if he really believed that Sanders was “insensitive” to the black community?

“Yes,” Simmons reiterated. “He’s insensitive in a number of ways, and I would get into it if we had time, but I think Sen. Clinton has been sensitive, supportive of a progressive agenda. She’s realistic in what she can get done. She’s able to beat the Republican candidate, and I think that Bernie Sanders would not be able to or could lose. And I don’t want to take that chance.”

It just so happens that this is the exact opposite of what liberal professor and African-American activist Cornel West said on the same network just a couple of weeks ago, when he called Hillary Clinton “the Milli Vanilli of American politics”!

However, it’s not just Cornel West who disagrees with Russell Simmons. Jane Sanders, the wife of the aforementioned socialist candidate, had a bone to pick with Simmons racial demagoguery of her husband. Mrs. Sanders argued that she was there when Simmons called her husband to discuss an endorsement and that he only decided against it after Bernie said no to legislating against livestock farming. There was never any mention of a racial component according to the recollection of Mrs. Sanders, but she did add that Simmons’ comments sounded an awful lot like the Clinton campaign’s talking points.
