Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel is hated by many of Chicago’s social justice warriors.
Earlier in July, Rahm Emanuel publicly blessed a protest that shut down a major thoroughfare as “peaceful.”

If the Chicago mayor thought this kind of pandering makes him popular with Chicago’s activists, he seems to have miscalculated. New protesters are demanding his resignation and declaring they don’t want his approval.
Breitbart reports, “Left-Wing Protesters Demand Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Resignation Ahead of March.“
A group of Chicago activists is calling for the resignation of Chicago’s Democrat mayor, Rahm Emanuel, ahead of an anti-violence march aimed at shutting down another of the city’s busiest streets.
Last week, several groups, including the Coalition for a New Chicago and Violence Interrupters, announced plans for a march set to start on August 2 at 4 pm. The groups say they will shut down the city’s busy Lake Shore Drive, starting out on the Drive near Belmont. Then they plan to head toward Wrigley Field, the stadium where the Chicago Cubs will be playing, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Fox News reports,
“The call of the people is ‘Resign Rahm,’” Dr. Gregory Livingston said, according to The Chicago Tribune. “So how, then, can you back your own regime change? How do you sanction your own termination? How dumb, naive and self-hating do you think we are?”
Honestly, when the mayor endorses a protest, it’s no longer a protest,” Rev. Ira Acree said. “It becomes a parade, and we’re on serious business.”
NBC Chicago reported that the protesters said they are looking to “redistribute the pain and agony of no economic development on the South and West Sides to the North side.”
The protest will head from Lake Shore Drive toward Wrigley Field.
“Redistribute” is a reference to getting free stuff.
