Staff for Kentucky Democrat Candidate Says She is LYING about her Support for the Coal Industry!

I don’t know what is sadder.

The fact that the best candidate Democrats could come up with in Kentucky is a serial liar who doesn’t have an original thought (on politics) in her head in Alison Lundergan Grimes.

The fact that she actually might have a chance at beating her Republican opponent, Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Hopefully, her chances at becoming the next senator from Kentucky should become much worse now that every Kentuckian should know that she is lying about one of her most important policy beliefs.

The folks at Project Veritas went to Kentucky hoping to learn whether or not the Democrat was being honest about her love of Kentucky coal. What they found was not surprising, but it should be damning.

“She’s saying something positive about coal because she wants to be elected,” said Ros Hines, a staffer in Grimes’ Lexington campaign office. “And in the state of Kentucky, if you are anti-coal, you will not get elected, period, end of conversation.”

Some Grimes supporters captured in the hidden-camera video likewise suggest that Grimes is lying about her support for the industry in order to get elected.

“She has to say that,” remarked Juanita Rodriguez of the Warren County Democratic Party. “But you know what? Politics is a game. You do what you have to do to get [elected]. … It’s a lying game unfortunately.”

Mitch McConnell’s campaign quickly jumped on the revelations from the video.

“It is absolutely shocking that Alison Lundergan Grimes’ own staff now admits that she has no intention of protecting the coal industry,” campaign spokeswomen Allison Moore wrote in an emailed statement. “The level of deception that Alison Grimes and her campaign engages in to appear pro-coal despite virulent opposition is both disturbing and dangerous.”

I hope Kentucky is watching – Alison Lundergan Grimes is a liar and a liberal and her policy positions are bad for Kentucky.
