Kanye West has been upsetting liberals, now, for two solid years with his support and appreciation of President Donald Trump and now he is defending his use of the Trump “Make America Great Again” cap by saying that he is a true American who supports our president.
West recently told critics to take a hike during an appearance on celebrity gossip show TMZ, Breitbart News reported:
“I am American, and I support and give my ideas and support and brilliance to whoever ends up in office,” he said in an interview with TMZ. “That’s my stance, as an American. I support our president, bottom line, no matter who they are. This represents to me [is], y’all can’t bully me.”
TMZ host Harvey Levin urged West to remove the hat, warning him that he was sending the wrong message to the black community.
“I’m all for free speech, but when you wear that hat, which is a symbol of Donald Trump, I don’t understand why that isn’t a mixed message because Donald Trump has not been a friend of the black community,” Levin said.
“This represents – Y’all can’t bully me,” West replied, referring to “gang bangers” that tried to rip hats off of people in the streets. “Ain’t nobody ripping my hat off again.”
West said the hat represented “masculine energy” in his home and “leadership.”
He also said that the hat represented freedom of speech.
“For me, I’ve got the right to wear what I want, that’s what’s so dope about this country, it’s a free country, I’ve got the right to think what I want, I got the right to feel what I want,” he said.
West caused a stir last weekend when he addressed the studio audience at the end of the Saturday Night Live broadcast. West told the crowd that he was bullied before he went out on stage wearing his MAGA hat.
“They bullied me backstage. They said, ‘don’t go out there with that hat on. They bullied me backstage. They bullied me! And then they say I’m in a sunken place,” he said. “You want to see the sunken place? Okay, I’ma listen to ya’ll now — or I’ma put my Superman cape on, cuz this means you can’t tell me what to do. Follow your heart and stop following your mind. That’s how we’re controlled. That’s how we’re programmed. If you want the world to move forward, try love.”
Turning to the people gathered behind him on stage, West said, “Thank ya’ll for giving me this platform. I know some of ya’ll don’t agree, but ya’ll be going at that man … and I don’t think it’s actually that helpful. I think the universe has balance. Ninety percent of news are liberal.”

However, West clarified that those who bullied him were not SNL cast members as many thought when the story was first reported early this week.
“The bullying came from just people around me people close to my circle, telling me why I shouldn’t be wearing the hat. It put my energy in more of a reactionary place,” West told TMZ.
