Hollywood Star Kurt Russell Calls Gun Grabbers “Insane”!

I should probably lead with I have always though Kurt Russell was awesome. His character, Snake Plissken, is one of my favorite all-time movie heroes, and his turn as coach Brooks in Miracle always made me emotional. Russell is a true acting giant, but I like him even more, now that I know he is a gun-rights advocate too!

Russell is busy doing media appearances to promote his new film (with Quentin Tarantino) called Hateful 8, when the liberal (and vile) Hollywood reporter Jeffrey Wells went on an anti-gun tirade while interviewing Russell.

At one point Wells began disseminating about how guns seem to be a “metaphor” for “disenfranchised white guys” when Russell finally had enough and began to push back.

(Starting about 2:15 into the interview.)

“If you think gun control is going to change the terrorists’ point of view, I think you’re, like, out of your mind. I think anybody [who says that] is. I think it’s absolutely insane.”

Attempting to help Wells understand how our mindset needs to shift, Russell explained that if we want to stop mass shooters and terrorists, we have to change the way we as a culture deal with violent criminals.

“You may think you’ve got me worried about what you’re going to do. Dude, you’re about to find out what I’m gonna do, and that’s gonna worry you a lot more,” the actor continued. “And that‘s what we need. That will change the concept of gun culture, as you call it, to something [like] reality. Which is, if I’m a hockey team and I’ve got some guy bearing down on me as a goal tender, I’m not concerned about what he’s gonna do — I’m gonna make him concerned about what I’m gonna do to stop him. That’s when things change…”

Wells obviously wasn’t listening to Russell’s response because he soon responded by talking about President Obama’s argument that those who find themselves on “no-fly” lists shouldn’t be allowed to purchase guns. Never mind the fact that no mass shooter has ever been identified on a “no-fly” list, but I digress. Russell quickly responds that it doesn’t matter what regulation you put in place, criminals will still commit crimes.

“They can also make a bomb pretty easily. So what? They can also get knives and stab you. [What are you] gonna do about that? They can also get cars and run you over. [What are you] gonna do about that?

Whaddaya gonna do? Outlaw everything? That isn’t the answer.”

When Wells mentions that the government should “put some controls” on the people, Russell grows incredulous and hits the nail right on the head.

“Put some controls? What, so the people, so the people who want to defend themselves can’t?”

Wells counters that he doesn’t want to stop people from defending themselves, he just wants to keep criminals from getting guns.

Again, Russell seems awed by the terribly naïve bit of logic.

You really believe they’re not going to? Are you serious about that? What good will that…? Oh my God. You and I just disagree.”

Kurt Russell must be an intelligent dude. He was ambushed and forced to respond to questions he probably never saw coming (since he was just there to promote his new movie). He answered the ridiculous and inane liberal argument for gun control with logic, facts and reason and proved that he was a far-wiser man than the sleazy reporter who was questioning him. Way to go, Kurt. That’s how we win this argument against the gun grabbing fascists.
