Here’s What We’re Reading July 29, 2014

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Tuesday July 29, 2014.

Iraqi Christians at a rally outside the White House are wondering where President Obama is hiding.

Hey! Hey! Hey! Conservatism is the “new” Punk Rock!

Liberals will hold their nose and vote for Hillary Clinton because they know that she has a better shot of winning over white voters than any other Democrat candidate.

Meanwhile, all of the major Republican candidates are working hard to minimize the effect of losing minority voters in the next election. Rand Paul (R-KY) is doing his best to reach out to black voters, and Marco Rubio is trying to help the GOP understand that if they reach out to working class voters – they’ll automatically be reaching out to Hispanic voters.

Religion is still one of the best ways to predict how Americans are going to vote in an upcoming election, as a recent Gallup poll reminds us.

Even as overall party identification trends in the U.S. have shifted over the past six and half years, the relationship between religion and party identification has remained consistent. Very religious Americans are more likely to identify with or lean toward the Republican Party and less frequently identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party, compared with those who are moderately or nonreligious.

First, it was Boston , Seattle and Los Angeles, then it was Chicago… and now Miami. Europe isn’t the only place where anti-Semitism is running rampant. The disease has spread even here in “tolerant” America.

The Wendy Davis experiment is coming to an end. (And we couldn’t be happier.)
