Here’s What We’re Reading July 13, 2014

We hope you’re having a great day wherever you are and that the news we dig up for you this morning helps you navigate the day more efficiently!

It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.

You’re welcome.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Monday July 13, 2014.

Today’s reading list deals almost exclusively with the illegal immigration crisis.

Conservative pundits all over America have been comparing the border crisis with the disaster that was Hurricane Katrina. But they’re wrong… the border crisis is WORSE. And it’s not just the Border States having to deal with this mess now. In Nebraska the federal government has secretly brought in about 200 illegal immigrant children and housed them throughout the state… the problem? The Feds won’t tell the state government who the kids are, where they are located or how long they are staying! Even in liberal Massachusetts people are starting to get very worried as the federal government is flying in (also secretly) hundreds of illegal immigrants and again housing them throughout the state in secret immigration centers. (When I say secret, I mean that the federal government WON’T tell the state government…)

“We’re all becoming border sheriffs now with these people being carted all over the country,” said Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson.

“The blame goes all the way up. It’s a travesty and people ought to be upset,” Hodgson said. “This is un-American and has raised the stakes to the public health and public safety threat.”

Even worse, because of the federal government’s intransigence on illegal immigratio these children are in incredible danger. A new report from the National Review found that human trafficking groups have been attempting to take custody of some of these illegal immigrant children.

“There have been cases of people who have attempted to be sponsors actually being identified as associated with trafficking organizations,” Representative Jim Bridenstine (R., Okla) told National Review Online after visiting a housing facility at Fort Sill.

“Not only the official, but the contractor as well indicated that that has happened, but they didn’t know how many times,” he said during a Saturday afternoon phone interview. ”And they kept saying ‘we’ll have to get more information on that because we don’t have the numbers.’ But, it has happened. Again, I’m talking to a lower-level individual at one facility in Oklahoma, so it’s hard for me to say definitively that this is a large-scale problem, but it was very clear that it has happened.” Disgusting.

John Kerry is working hard to be part of the negotiations to bring peace to the Middle East, but most experts agree… he should just stay out of it!

The World Cup is over… and after a month of intense action, Germany is the world champion of soccer.
