Hallelujah! SC Governor Ceases Funds to Any Clinic Offering Abortions

All state and local government funding that was being funneled into abortion clinic bank accounts have been halted in South Carolina by Governor Henry McMaster.

McMaster’s office released a statement that said any health clinic that gives funds to medical officials to perform an abortion is considered an abortion clinic. It reads:

Directed state agencies to cease providing state or local funds, whether via grant, contract, state-administered federal funds, or any other form, to any physician or professional medical practice affiliated with an abortion clinic and operating concurrently with – and in the same physical, geographic location or footprint as – an abortion clinic.

He also put wheels into motion for the state’s health department to request waivers from Medicare and Medicaid health insurances to ensure that abortion clinics will not be covered under Medicaid either.

With that being said, they are making a “user-friendly list” of places that women can go to for qualified health care and are also located within 25 miles from the clinics that offered abortions. That way they can see that there are indeed offices that can address women’s health without murdering babies.

McMaster said, “There are a variety of agencies, clinics, and medical entities in South Carolina that receive taxpayer funding to offer important women’s health and family planning services without performing abortions,” he continued, “Taxpayer dollars must not directly or indirectly subsidize abortion providers like Planned Parenthood.”

Of course Planned Parenthood took to Twitter to condemn McMaster on Twitter. Such injustice for women not to be allowed to have their children’s murder paid for by tax dollars, huh?

Planned Parenthood masquerades as a health care provider, but they are not in that business because that business doesn’t have the big money in it.

Breitbart reports:

Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley, the chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, issued a statement Friday in which she said 4,000 patients are receiving health care at Planned Parenthood clinics in South Carolina each year.

“And we’ll leave no stone unturned to protect our patients’ access to health care,” she added.

Much of Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funds are received through Medicaid reimbursements and allow the group to be viewed as a provider of health care services. The organization’s own recently released annual report, however, shows its profits, taxpayer funding, and number of abortions performed have all increased over the past year, while many of its non-abortion services–such as contraception, cancer screenings, and prenatal services–have decreased over the same period.

Perhaps things are turning around for the unborn in the country. That is a prayer that I have been praying a long time.
