GOP Calls for Unity, but Donald Trump says He’s Not Sure He Wants some GOP Voters!

Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus was on CBS This Morning on Wednesday morning to speak about the inetvitable nomination of Donald Trump, the ongoing campaign, and the need for party unity. Priebus assured America’s Republican voters that the party would unify and that Trump would have the full support of the Party.

“Clearly when you have a race where you’ve got 17 candidates and as of late 2 very serious candidates with serious campaigns. It’s not easy. It’s hard. And I would be lying to you all if I said this would be easy, we’re just going to pivot. We’re going to unify. We need time to unify. And we will unify. But the starts the unification process…

I get it, there’s work to do and we’re going to get to work. It’s not going to be overnight and instantaneous but we’re going to work at it. We’ve been working at it for four years. I think Donald Trump is ready to roll up his sleeves and get to work.”

However, the candidate himself, didn’t seem as interested in party unity as Priebus. Appearing on NBC’s Today Show Trump said that while he could unify the party, he wasn’t sure he wanted to.

“I am confident that I can unite much of it. Some of it, I don’t want. There were statements made about me that those people can go away and maybe come back in eight years after we serve two terms.

Honestly, there are some people I really don’t want. I don’t think it’s necessary. People would be voting for me, they’re not voting for the party.”

Will the Party unify around Mr. Trump? Is it even a possibility?
