George Will Backs Trump up on ‘Rigged Election’ Claims [VIDEO]

Liberals think voter fraud is nothing but a rightwing conspiracy theory. Conservatives think it’s rampant and is the reason Democrats win at all, especially in presidential elections. I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Recently, Donald Trump has been reviving his claims of widespread voter fraud. He’s warning of a “rigged election.” He tweeted: “The election is absolutely being rigged by the dishonest and distorted media pushing Crooked Hillary – but also at many polling places – SAD.” And the media is hysterical.

They quickly pounced on him to “debunk” his claims. They’re saying his claims of a rigged election are dangerousThe New York Times said they’re shamefulPeople magazine said his warnings “have both parties worried.”

While I don’t think that voter fraud and “rigged elections” are as big of a deal as many conservatives make them out to be, they’re definitely issues that could sway an election one way or another, typically in Democrats’ favor. And that’s the whole point. That’s why Democrats want to keep it this way and act like there’s no such thing as fraud, and anyone who points out the system’s vulnerabilities is a “racist.” George Will pointed out on Fox News:

“When Mr. Trump talks about it being rigged, he sweeps all his grievances into one big puddle. He talks about the media. He talked about the primaries. He talked about the polls. Talked about the Republican National Committee. I think when most Americans hear that an election is rigged, they think of government action to rig the election. And there Mr. Trump has a point if he would just make it more clearly.

“It is hard to think of an innocent reason why Democrats spend so much time, energy and money, scarce resources all, resisting attempts to purge the voter rolls, that is to remove people who are dead or otherwise have left the jurisdiction. It’s hard to think of an innocent reason why they fight so tremendously against Voter I.D. laws. They say, well that burdens the exercise of a fundamental right. The Supreme Court has said that travel is a fundamental right and no one thinks that showing an I.D. at the airport burdens that fundamental right.

“We know — we don’t surmise — we know that the 2010, ’12 and ’14 elections were rigged by the most intrusive and potentially punitive institution of the federal government, the IRS. You can read all about it in Kim Strassel’s book Intimidation Game. She’s familiar to all Wall Street Journal readers and FOX viewers. This is not a surmise. I have talked to lawyers in a position to know they say it’s still going on. The IRS is still intolerantly delaying the granting of tax exempt status to conservative advocacy groups to skew the persuasion of this campaign.”
