Franken Accuser Says His ‘Defiant’ Statement ‘Wasn’t an Apology’

Franken announced his resignation on Thursday after much urging from fellow lawmakers, both Democrats and Republicans alike, for his sexual misconduct.

In his goodbye speech, he attempted to justify his lewd actions by bringing up a tape that is over a decade old. The tape with a recording of President Trump bragging about how women throw themselves at you when you’re rich.

Franken said, “I, of all people, am aware that there is some irony in the fact that I am leaving, while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the Oval Office.”

One of the women accusing the Senator, Tina Dupuy, starred on CNN’s “New Day” on Friday. She spoke about Franken’s resignation, and expressed her displeasure with his unapologetic “apology” that she claims was “very defiant.”

“I thought that he said to listen to women, and then he talked about himself. It wasn’t an apology. It was very defiant. He wanted to talk about the pain that he was going through, which is obvious,” Dupuy continued, “But not the pain that he’s inflicted. So — and I think — I thought that was inappropriate to do that from the Senate floor, quite candidly.”

However, with every statement on the left, there will come some sort of jab to Conservatives. Dupuy implied that Democrats treat women better than Conservatives.

She claims there is no irony about Franken resigning and Trump continuing to remain president, but that “one party [is] better on women than the other party.”

That is a laughable statement if you ask me.
