In a recent appearance on Fox News, former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Tom Homan slammed those who want to abolish ICE.
Homan was perplexed by a judge’s decision that President Donald Trump could not undo the Obama Executive Order that created the DACA program (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). When he came to office, Trump rescinded the DACA program, but this week a left-wing judge ordered the White House to fully reinstate the policy saying that Trump did not have the power to undo Obama’s order.
On Fox News, Homan said that the judge’s decision mad no sense at all.
“I can’t understand how a judge says one president has the power through executive action to create a program out of no where, but another president doesn’t have the authority through executive action to end it. I mean it’s either got to be one way or the other, I would think,” Homan said on Saturday.

Indeed, Homan is right. Presidential executive orders do not have the protected force of law that an at of Congress has. Presidential Executive Orders can be made and unmade at the whim of the sitting president. A president can’t undo a law with an EO, granted, but any previous EO can always be undone by any president for any reason.
This judge’s order is proof once again that liberals do not care about law. Only their agenda.
Homan went on to slam Democrats working to abolish ICE. “Abolishing ICE means open borders,” he said.
This isn’t the first time Homan has slammed those looking to abolish ICE. As he recently told the Washington Examiner:
“It’s insulting that a member of Congress would say ‘abolish ICE’ when we’re enforcing the laws that Congress enacted. They give us a set of laws that we’re supposed to enforce and they give me the money to do it, then say ‘abolish ICE,'” Homan said during an interview late Thursday. “We’re doing what you told us to do.”
Homan went on to argue that the agency has done great work since Trump took office:
Homan argued 92 percent of all ICE arrests in FY 2017 either had a criminal arrest or conviction and were not being picked up just for immigration violations.
“We saved 904 children through our investigations from being exploited, being raped, being molested, being filmed,” he added.
ICE not only works to apprehend criminal illegals inside the U.S., but it is also tasked with investigating human trafficking.
