FIRED! Two Conservatives Fired for their Religious Beliefs, Who’s Next?

Two very different but oddly connected stories are making the rounds this week as two members of very different circles face persecution for their conservative beliefs.

First, in California a scientist at California State University has been fired from job because the University could no longer tolerate his Christian faith. It didn’t help that the scientist had made a momentous discovery that he argued proved dinosaurs roamed the earth as recently as 4,000 years ago.

A few years ago Mark Armitage discovered a large triceratops horn in Montana. Upon examining the horn under a high-powered microscope, he made another fascinating find. He discovered soft tissue on the horn, which seems to indicate that “dinosaurs roamed the earth only thousands of years in the past rather than going extinct 60 million years ago.”

According to court documents, shortly after the original soft tissue discovery, a CSUN official told Armitage, “We are not going to tolerate your religion in this department!”

Mark Armitage YouTubeArmitage, a published scientist of over 30 years, was subsequently let go after CSUN abruptly claimed his appointment at the university of 38 months had been temporary, and claimed a lack of funding for his position, according to attorneys.

“Terminating an employee because of their religious views is completely inappropriate and illegal,” Dacus said in a statement. “But doing so in an attempt to silence scientific speech at a public university is even more alarming. This should be a wakeup call and warning to the entire world of academia.”

Since his discovery more soft tissue has been discovered on other dinosaur bones, leading the scientific community to rethink their timelines.

In a similarly troubling case, a Wyoming judge is facing losing her job because of her opposition to gay marriage.

The Wyoming Commission on Judicial Conduct and Ethics is recommending the court remove Municipal Judge and Circuit Court Magistrate Ruth Neely of Pinedale. The commission started investigating Neely after she told a reporter in 2014 she would not perform same-sex marriages because of her religious beliefs . . . Neely is fighting removal, arguing she has a constitutional right to voice her opinion. Her lawyers have said no same-sex couples have asked her to preside over their weddings.

Stand with Judge NeelyThe Commission (and the AP report) both wrongly argue that Judge Ruth Neely is being negligent in completing her duties as a municipal judge by opposing gay marriage. However, Wyoming law does not require Neely to perform such ceremonies. In fact, she is not required to participate in any wedding ceremony. But the case gets worse, as the Commission has even argued that Neely has violated her duties by hiring conservative counsel to represent her in the case! Further, Neely has evidence that the Commission’s attorneys argued that a person with her “type” of beliefs “cannot remain in office” and that her religious beliefs were “repugnant.”

This is the type of harassment that conservatives can (and should) expect to see more of in the coming years. That is, if we allow the fascist liberal culture to continue to run rampant in our nation. The time for silence, or mild discontent, is over. The time for action is now. We must stand up and fight back against the liberal tyrants who seek to rule over our thoughts and our actions. If we want to continue living in “the land of the free,” then we must be willing to stand up and be counted. We must be willing to push back against the crushing wave of liberal fascism and intolerance. We must fight back, and we must do it now.
