Did Obama Purposely Ignore the Iraqi Prime Minister in Germany?

On Tuesday President Obama delivered a speech at the G-7 Summit in Germany. Afterwards, during a time when the assembled politicians and media were mingling about relaxing outdoors in the sun, he took time to speak to some of the other G-7 guests. Cameras caught the president sitting on a bench having a discussion with Italy’s Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, and the Director of the IMF, Christine Lagarde, when the Prime Miniser of Iraq, Hayder al-Abadi, approached, hoping to have a word with President Obama.

That’s when things get embarrassing.

President Obama completely ignores the Iraqi Prime Minister and continues his conversation with Renzi and Lagarde without ever acknowledging that Abadi was there. I don’t know that President Obama did it on purpose, but it hardly seems possible that he could be oblivious to Abadi’s presence that entire time.
