It’s pretty surprising to read that Californian Senator Dianne Feinstein acknowledges that gun restrictions wouldn’t have stopped the Las Vegas massacre. I wish I could say it is surprising that Feinstein is pushing for more gun laws despite her admission. But that is not surprising at all. Politicians are going to politicize no matter what logic dictates.

The Hill reports, “Feinstein: No law would have stopped Las Vegas gunman.

Feinstein spoke on CBS News’s “Face the Nation” about gun legislation in the wake of the attack launched from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel targeting a country music concert.

“Could there have been any law passed that would’ve stopped him?” Host John Dickerson asked the senator.

“No, he passed background checks registering for handguns and other weapons on multiple occasions,” Feinstein replied.

Feinstein, who is pushing legislation to ban bump stocks, said there is “Republican interest” in the bill.

The Republican interest in the bill is not surprising either. It’s sad though!
