Democrat Senator Seeking Reelection Calls Constituents Racist and Sexist!

This is probably not the best way for Senator Landrieu to win reelection…

Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) is attempting to win reelection to the Senate from the Bayou State of Louisiana. That effort is not going well, and her latest slip-up is probably not going to help matters for the liberal Southern Democrat. In a recent interview on NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd, she called Louisiana (and Southern voters in general) Racist and Sexist!

“To be very, very honest with you, the South has not always been the friendliest place to African-Americans. It’s been a difficult time for the president to present himself in a positive light as a leader. It’s not always been a good place for women to be able to present ourselves, it’s more of a conservative place.”

Could someone please remind Senator Landrieu that the “sexist” voters in Louisiana have previously elected her to two terms in office. Also, if they could remind her that those same “racist” voters have voted TWICE to elect Governor Bobby Jindal (an American of Indian descent) to lead their state.

These voters just don’t seem sexist or racist to me…

Landrieu’s “honesty” has opened a huge can of worms at the worst possible time for the Democrat candidate.

Thank the Good Lord that we Southerners (and the people of Louisiana in particular) have a man like Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA) to speak up for us. Governor Jindal is one of my personal favorite candidates to be the nominee for the GOP in 2016’s race for the White House, and he was quick to defend his home state on Neil Cavuto’s Fox Business show.

“I thought our Senator’s comments were ridiculous and offensive. She’s basically calling the people of Louisiana, she’s calling all of us in the South racist. She owes us an apology. Here in Louisiana, and across the South, we don’t think in terms of black and white… the only colors that matter down here are red, white and blue… it’s not about race…

It’s ridiculous to call people racist who happen to disagree with this President’s policies!”

Governor Jindal also released a printed statement reacting to Landrieu’s comments.

“The President’s policies, which Senator Landrieu largely supports, are unpopular in Louisiana, and the other 49 states, because they are ill advised, liberal, and don’t work out here in the real world. And, his administration has also proven to be incompetent. Trying to blame it on race is ridiculous.”
