Democrat Candidate Says Beheaded Journalists Support Democrats

Democrat Mark Udall is in a tough reelection fight to keep his Colorado Senate seat.

So don’t be surprised when you listen to this clip of his recent debate with Republican Cory Gardner and hear him say something that is absolutely macabre.

“I can tell you Steve Sotloff and James Foley would tell us, ‘Don’t be impulsive,’ horrible and barbarous as those executions were – don’t be impulsive, come up with a plan. We’ll knock ISIL back (unintelligible)…”

Steven Sotloff and James Foley may have been Democrats (I have no idea), and they may even agree with Senator Udall. But his willingness to invoke their names in a debate is grotesque. They aren’t here to agree or disagree. They aren’t here to offer their “professional” opinions about ISIS… and even if they were, their work and experience does not mean that their opinion trumps those of the average voter.

In fact, the only thing that invoking the names of these two dead journalists does is attempt to coopt their deaths for his own benefit — and that is simply ghoulish.

I hope that the voters in Colorado punish Udall for this coarse attempt to connect himself to the two murdered innocents.
