Cop Docked 5 Days of Pay: Referred to Kneeling NFL Players as ‘Anti-American Degenerates’

A Michigan police officer has been docked five days worth of pay for sharing a post on Facebook that referred to kneeling NFL players (during the national anthem) as ‘anti-American degenerates.’

Quick question: Why is she being punished for sharing the truth?

Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue is being hit form all sides for sharing the meme on her Facebook profile. While she has apologized for it, she still faces a week less of pay on her paycheck, although she is still expected to work those days.

The post she shared on Facebook read, “Dear NFL: We will not support millionaire ingrates who hate America and Disrespect our Armed Forces and Veterans. Who wins a football game has ZERO impact on our lives. Who fights and defends our nation has EVERY impact on our lives. We stand with Heroes, not a bunch of rich, entitled, arrogant, ungrateful, anti-American degenerates. Signed, We the People.”

Governor Rick Snyder stated that they are taking steps to ‘review the culture of state government.’

It would be one thing if the officer was publicly calling the NFL players out while on duty. However, she simply shared a meme on her personal Facebook page. It was not racist. It was simply calling things how many Americans see it.

Daily Mail reports:

The controversial message on her personal Facebook page caused outrage, as some have called for her to be fired – which Snyder had already said he would not do.

‘Colonel Etue posted something on social media that was inappropriate.,’ the governor said.

‘The colonel has served honorably as an enlisted trooper for 30 years, and I hope we can come together as Michiganders to move forward and find common ground, rather than rehash past mistakes.’

Michigan ACLU Director Kary Moss blasted Colonel Etue, stating, “It is the sworn duty of the State Police Director to uphold the Constitution which protects all people in this State and to demonstrate respect for those principles.”

She added, “She undermines her own position and the trust of the community with these remarks and utter disregard of the people she represents.”

Hmm….kind of like the kneeling football players? I see nothing wrong with what the officer shared on Facebook. Do you?
