Chess Legend Garry Kasparov Explains the GOP’s Jeb Bush Problem

This past Sunday the famed Chess legend Garry Kasparov appeared on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures and delivered what may be the best, most insightful political punditry I’ve seen in this election cycle.

Opining about the inevitable failure that would be a Jeb Bush nomination, Kasparov told the Fox panel (led by Fox Business News’ Maria Bartiromo) that the only GOP candidate that Hillary Clinton could beat is actually… JEB BUSH! Why? Kasparov believes that any GOP candidate who could articulate a coherent vision for the future would be a shoo-in to win the Presidency. The only caveat to that belief is Jeb Bush, because Bush – no matter what vision he laid out – would always remind the voters of the past, thanks to his family name.

I find Kasparov’s logic (and his optimism for the GOP) very compelling. I happen to wholeheartedly agree with him, by the way…

Investors are always looking for a safe bet, and Jeb Bush looks like a safe bet.

But in my opinion, he would be a disaster for the GOP.

He is the only candidate that the Hillary Clinton can beat.

GOP can win only if they talk about the future, and Jeb Bush can not be an agent of change. Even if he tells you the greatest story, nobody will listen because he is Bush.

The family kills him, the family name.

So I think if Bush is winning the nomination, I think GOP will be dragged into a debate about the past. And the media, the liberal media, will have the dream target to attack.
