Breaking: Sean Spicer Resigns as White House Press Secretary

Sean is gone! Sean Spicer has officially resigned as the White House Press Secretary.

This came shortly after President Donald Trump offered Anthony Scaramucci the position of Communications Director. Spicer was not happy about that and told the president that he disagreed with the appointment of Scaramucci.

This announcement comes six months after he spoke about the size of the crowds who attended President Trump’s inauguration, and made controversial remarks about them.

WVCB reports:

Sean Spicer, who had a rocky run as White House press secretary, has resigned after “vehemently” disagreeing with President Donald Trump’s choice for his new communications director.

According to The New York Times, Spicer took issue with the hiring of New York financier Anthony Scaramucci to lead the White House communications department, calling it a “major mistake.” The Associated Press has also confirmed the resignation.

In an administration that has had a combative relationship with the media, Spicer started as the face of the White House in press briefings that drew higher-than-usual ratings and brought out testy exchanges.
