Bongino Shoots it Straight: ‘Criminals Don’t Give a Damn’

Former United States Secret Service agent Dan Boningo absolutely blasted calls for gun control out of the water. The call for stricter control after the school shooting in Florida is not the solution to our so called “gun problem.”

The reason this cannot be a solution is because guns are not the problem in our society. Just like with Cain and Abel and every man after them, we are dealing with a heart problem. As long as there is hatred and malicious intent in peoples’ hearts, that will never change.

Bongino, who was also a NYPD officer, spoke about how frustrating it is to hear how the left believes more gun laws are the way to prevent these mass shootings.

“Let me just let you in on a little secret,” Bongino continued, “Criminals don’t care about your gun laws. They don’t give a damn. They don’t care about rape laws, robbery laws, homicide laws, burglary laws, gun laws or anything else.”

Trending: The Conservative Answer to Reforming the Criminal Justice Sysytem

Fox News Insider reports:

He argued that instituting a ban on assault weapons like the AR-15 — the gun used in last week’s shooting — is not the right approach because the criminals who “openly mock gun laws” will just obtain weapons illegally on the black market.

Katie Pavlich noted that the AR-15 — which functions the same as a semi-automatic handgun, with one round fired per trigger pull — is the most popular rifle in the U.S., owned by approximately 6 million people.

Despite the AR-15’s popularity, she said, data from the Department Homeland Security shows that handguns are the weapon of choice when it comes to mass shootings.

“And let’s not forget that during the church massacre in Texas that we saw recently, it was an NRA-certified instructor who used an AR-15 to stop the killing there,” Pavlich added, “And so there are two sides of this story.”

Authorities said the gunman, a 19-year-old former student of the school, purchased the AR-15 legally and passed a background check.
