What We’re Reading July 29, 2013

So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Monday July 29, 2013.

The New Hampshire Union Leader is not happy with Governor Chris Christie’s (R-NJ) recent attack on Senator Rand Paul (R-KY). In fact they get downright hostile, all while invoking President and founding father James Madison. It’s a pretty historical beat-down of Christie’s argument.

Even with all the recent revelations about child slave labor and the deplorable conditions kids are being forced to work in… people still buy the products produced by slaves. Do we really just not care?

Paul RyanPaul Ryan (R-WI) is facing some heat at home about his controversial stand on the recently produced Gang of Eight immigration bill. Ryan has shown his support for something similar to the Gang of Eight bill, even though it is very unpopular with the Republican rank and file.

Israel and Palestine will begin renewed peace talks this week in the hopes to one day end the violence between the two groups.

A recent robbery saw the name of Trayvon Martin invoked by the criminal as a reason for the assault. Police have decided to investigate the case as a hate crime.

I bet you’ll be surprised to learn what is truly the greatest food in human history. Spoiler – it’s not a bag of leafy greens.
