You read that title right. At least 100 Americans have travelled to Syria to fight for ISIS, and some of them have already returned to living in the comfort of our dear home, the USA. I’ll wait until the seriousness of that settles in and you realize what this terrifying news actually means.
Men (and perhaps some women) who have travelled to Syria and Iraq to fight for ISIS are currently living and walking about freely within our nation. Men who sided with monsters who were beheading children, raping women, slaughtering Christians and destroying whole cities are just walking around as if none of it ever happened. They are driving to the local grocery store, worshipping in their local mosque, sending letters at the post office, watching CNN and MSNBC from the comfort of their air-conditioned American homes.
Can you think of anything more disgusting or unjust?
Just a couple weeks ago Rep. Michele Bachmann was warning us of this very danger… and now we know, not only was she right, but it was already happening!
The interview with Bachmann starts about 39 minutes into the program (and the entire thing is worth a listen), but the pertinent part of the interview discussing Americans who leave to go and fight for the terrorists starts at 49 minutes in.
“Two from my state were the first Americans who were fighting for ISIS,” Bachmann told The Glenn Beck Program on Tuesday. “I had gone earlier this year and asked the FBI, ‘Are there any Minnesotans that are over fighting with ISIS?’ It was classified information at the time, I couldn’t reveal it. Now everyone knows.”
“At that time, these two hadn’t been killed yet. So what I asked is, ‘OK, once they’re done fighting with ISIS, what’s going to happen if they try to return?’ And they said, ‘Well, they’ll come into the country.’ Are you kidding me? We are not going to prevent them from coming into the United States?’”
Well now we are being warned that some of those fighters have indeed come “home.” Time Magazine’s Zeke Miller told about a recent assessment from the National Counterterrorism Center that said more than 100 Americans have travelled to Syria to fight for ISIS and Al-Qaeda’s al-Nusra Front.
“It includes those who’ve gone, those who’ve tried to go, some who’ve come back and are under active—the FBI is looking at them,” the official said. “These are FBI matters, I refer you to them on specifics.”
It marked the first official government confirmation that at least some of the Americans fighting alongside the Islamist extremist group have returned to the U.S. As late as Monday morning, Secretary of State John Kerry said on MSNBC that “we have over 100 fighters there from America,” leaving out any mention of Americans who have returned.
All of this can be coupled with the most recent press release from ISIS leaders. On Monday ISIS’ leaders issued a call to Muslims in America and France.
“Hinder those who want to harm your brothers,” the ISIS spokesman said. “The best thing you can do is to strive to your best and kill any disbeliever, whether he be French, American or from any of their allies.”
Civilians should not be exempt from brutality, he said. “Do not ask for anyone’s advice and do not seek anyone’s verdict. Kill the disbeliever whether he is civilian or military, for they have the same ruling. Both of them are disbelievers. Both of them are considered to be waging war.”
“Oh Americans, and oh Europeans, the Islamic State did not initiate a war against you, as your governments and media try to make you believe,” the ISIS spokesman added. “It is you who started the transgression against us, and thus you deserve blame and you will pay a great price.”
He gave specifics on how to attack Westerners: “Rig the roads with explosives for them. Attack their bases. Raid their homes. Cut off their heads. Do not let them feel secure. Hunt them wherever they may be. Turn their worldly life into fear and fire. Remove their families from their homes and thereafter blow up their homes.”
So now we have ISIS calling for direct action in the United States (and other Western nations), and we also have news that soldiers of ISIS who live here in the US are now home.
Who do you think these ISIS soldiers are more loyal to? The corrupt United States? Or the caliphate of ISIS in Syria and Iraq? I think we all know the answer to that question… which is why having these men back on American soil should bother (and terrify) us all.
