Nancy Pelosi says Civilization would End if Republicans win the Senate

Oh Nancy.

I know the Democrats hate this crazy mudslinging rhetoric… oh, wait… Nancy is a Democrat.

Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) leader of the House Democrats was recently a guest on Bill Maher’s HBO show Real Time.  Maher was discussing the possibility that Republicans could win back the Senate this fall, when former Speaker Pelosi let loose with this mean-spirited and completely fallacious gem.

“It would be very important for the Democrats to retain control of the Senate. Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if Republicans win the Senate.”

Did you notice the other little backhanded slap Pelosi gave to Republicans?

“Fear is a motivator, and we are not fear-mongers. The Democrats are messengers of hope, and that’s what we will continue to be.”
I guess the implication is that the GOP is the party of fear?

You become the party of fear by telling the truth about healthcare reform, being right about the war on terror, noticing that the flood of illegal immigration happens to be crushing both our economy and taxing our justice system to the limit, and by wanting to lower taxes and cut spending.

That doesn’t sound like fear mongering… that sounds like wisdom.

Oh, Nancy.
