It’s a busy world out there, and you don’t have a ton of free time to be doing Internet searches for the most important items of the day… lucky for you, we do. We drink gallons of coffee in an effort to stay awake long enough to scour the far reaches of the world wide web in an effort to bring you the most important, useful and useless information every single day.
So without further ado, here’s what we’re reading Tuesday September 16, 2014.
A lot of folks seem to want to ignore the epidemic of anti-Semitism that is raging throughout the world right now… but at some point people are going to have to wake up. A full 40% of European Jews feel that they are forced to hide their religion from the people around them. In London recently, some Jewish boys from a local high school were barred entry into a store when the security guard blocked their entry and simply said, “No Jews. No Jews.” In France, where the largest number of European Jews live, the situation has become so untenable for Jews that many of them are turning to France’s “far-right” party, the National Front.
Things keep getting worse for the Democrats as another Democrat-held Senate seat that seemed safe a month ago is now in jeopardy. In New Hampshire Republican Scott Brown has pulled even with Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH).
Ok, so this is terrifying. The CDC is preparing for the Ebola virus’ arrival on US soil. It’s not here yet… but the CDC is taking the virus seriously.
RedState’s Erick Erickson lays out the reasons that Congress must reject President Obama’s plan to arm the “moderate” Syrian rebels. By the way, ISIS in Syria and Iraq is not the only “Caliphate” we have to worry about anymore. The terrorist group Boko Haram has now declared their own “Caliphate” in Nigeria.
