The terrible odyssey of Justina Pelletier and her family has been heart-wrenching at every turn. The young girl is experiencing debilitating sickness and has been torn from her family by the state of Massachusetts for the crime of siding with one group of medical professionals (who had been caring for Justina) over another (who had only seen her once).
Matt Staver an attorney from Liberty Counsel says that the state “has no right to hold Justina captive.” Further, he believes that “This case comes down to the simple fact that new doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital, who had no experience with Justina, came up with a different diagnosis than her expert treating physicians at Tufts Medical Center. The state cannot take children from their parents when the parents make reasonable choices for their medical care. This case is outrageous.”
The state of Massachusetts ripped the poor girl from her family in her darkest hour and placed her into state care with strangers where she has remained for well over a year.
Now Justina is crying out for justice from the judge who allowed the state to kidnap her and the Governor who is chief executive of the state of Massachusetts. She is quite literally begging Suffolk County Juvenile Court Judge Joseph Johnston and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick to return her to her family.
“All I really want to be with is with my family and my friends. You can do it. You’re the one that’s judging this. Please let me go home Judge Johnston and Gov. Patrick – right now. Please let me go right now. I need to be home with my family.”
Please, Judge Johnston and Governor Patrick, stop the monstrous incarceration of this innocent child. Stop the psychological torture that you are inflicting on both her and her family. Stop the insanity of the state, which believes that through a few minutes of conversation with lawyers you can better judge the needs of a child over her parents who have lovingly raised her for more than 15 years.
Free Justina and beg forgiveness for your crimes.
The state is not God.
